Revised Ex-Gratia Relief Amounts
The following table outlines the updated compensation structure for various incidents:

Additional Relief for Long-Term Hospitalization
For passengers with grievous injuries hospitalized beyond 30 days, additional daily relief is provided for a maximum of 12 months:+1
- Train Accidents: Rs. 3,000 per day.
- Untoward Incidents: * Rs. 1,500 per day for the first 6 months.
- Rs. 750 per day for the remaining 5 months.
- Release Schedule: Payments are released every 10 days or upon discharge, whichever is earlier.
Key Implementation Details
- Immediate Relief: Up to Rs. 50,000 may be paid in cash immediately to cover initial expenses. The remainder is paid via RTGS, NEFT, or cheque.+2
- Eligibility: Relief applies to passengers, road users at manned crossings (prima facie railway liability), and railway servants killed or injured on duty by a moving train.+1
- Exclusions: No relief is provided for accidents at unmanned level crossings, trespassers, or persons electrocuted by OHE.
- Medical Certification: Hospitalization beyond 30 days must be certified by a Railway Doctor, even if the patient is in a non-railway hospital.
